About Monkshill Farm
Monkshill Farm is situated on the north Kent coast overlooking the estuary and the beautiful countryside between Faversham and Whitstable. The Royal School for Deaf Children Margate and Westgate College for Deaf People purchased the 65 acre site in 1995. We have have worked hard over the years to develop it into a successful working farm with a strong educational focus.
All our cows, pigs and sheep are reared in the traditional way. Our farmyard is home to breeding pigs with their piglets, boars and varying sizes of growing pigs. We also have approx 700 free range laying hens. We produce high quality beef, pork, lamb and eggs which are sold to local restaurants, pubs and the general public. We also have alpacas, donkeys, a horse, goats and a handful of small animals.
Monkshill Farm's Education Centre is operated by Westgate College staff and offers a wide range of courses and accreditation for our own deaf students and for learners attending local schools and colleges. The Education Centre can also provide schools, colleges and youth groups with work experience placements, apprenticeship placements and educational visits.
